I love using layers and clusters of elements and embellishments as features in cards. It’s fairly new for me, having learnt it last year from Alicia McNamara at Paper Craft Secrets.
I made this one and used stencils and texture paste on the patterned paper to create a muted background.
Half way! I loved creating this card, it took me all afternoon getting all the elements stamped and die cut, then I was called out unexpectedly, but I found some time before bed to put it all together. I really love how it came out!
I have had a bit of a setback the last couple of days, it’s helpful to look back and try to identify when the change took place. My very supportive husband and I did that this morning after I had been up since 1:40 am. I woke up quite disturbed and couldn’t go back to sleep so I got up and eventually went into my craft room and began today’s card, which ended up being a set of three! The fact that I went in and did that is a good sign that I am still moving forward. Together we traced it back to a couple of conversations I had on Thursday both of which had affected me. It is so important to guard our hearts, and I am still learning the hard way how to do that. However, I made some beautiful cards, and it kept my mind off the things that woke me up for a few hours. So Day 13, a set of three cards inspired by a tutorial from my friend Alicia McNamara of Paper Craft Secrets.
I have been using sketches that I found on Pinterest for most of the cards I’ve made here, and I am pleased with how I’m going with them. This one is a gate-fold card and I kept it fairly clean and simple.
I started this card early this morning, and just finished it at 8:30 pm. I was in and out of my happy place all day! I haven’t made many wedding cards and made this for some friends.
We’d been out today with the family and had a wonderful day. I came home and continued my challenge with today’s card. It is a different card for me, and I’m not really sure how I feel about it but I enjoyed making it and that’s what this is all about.
