Onward and upward

Today is Day 15 for my self-imposed Card A Day Challenge. It hasn’t been easy, I’ve been unwell with a cold/cough that I haven’t been able to shake, but I’ve still managed to find time to create each day, even if only for a few minutes at a time. And it does help, the actual doing of the creation, and seeing the finished card does lift my spirits. When I look at the cards below, they are all so different. I start with a sketch, a stamp set, a photo, a paper pack, or a technique, and go from there. I love doing different things and using different mediums.

P.S. I am still working on my photography, sometimes it works beautifully, other times it’s more of a challenge 🙂

Here are Days 4 to 12.

And so it’s begun!

On 1st October I began the second round of A Card a Day, this time for the month of October. Life has again been very challenging for us, and I have not been spending as much time in my happy place, so this challenge is to get me into that mindful place of being creative. After only a few minutes I can feel my mind clearing and my mood lifting.

If you’d like to follow along with me here is the link to A Card a Day Take II.

Here are the first three days…

Life has changed

Life has changed! It’s the sentiment on this card, but true nonetheless. I am getting ready for an upcoming workshop, and have been browsing Google and Pinterest for ideas for using the Stampin’ Up! Elegantly Said stamp set along with the last of the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper pack. I love Pinterest for the ideas I find, and give credit to those who create them, and that we encourage CASE’ing… Copy And Share Everything, and this time I give kudos to Kristie Strum of The Tygress Den for her design. When I CASE a card it very rarely is an exact replica of the original design.

Christmas in July

I have started making Christmas cards! I really do enjoy making cards that are so bright and colourful and bring joy to people, including myself. The papers are from Stampin’ Up!’s Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper which I am really enjoying playing with. I am calling this my “Poinsettia Collection”. The poinsettia dies are by Lady E.

This is a fancy fun fold card which is so simple to do.

I offset the patterned paper on this bottom opening card.

I went through a whole heap of previously made cards to find layouts to make these cards.

The last in this set of 4 bright and beautiful Christmas cards.

I have a PDF printable with measurements and products I used to create these lovely cards, if you’d like a copy of it please contact me here and I will send it to you.

Paper Craft Secrets : Bulk Cards

Hello, it’s time for another challenge with Paper Craft Secrets, this month we have two challenges, Bulk Cards, and Ribbon, Fabric or Lace. This one fits the bill for both of them 🙂

I made a bulk set of 10 cards, and used a retired pack of patterned paper from Stampin’ Up! with scraps from my paper scrap basket, and left overs from previous projects.

*Paper Craft Secrets, Creating With Confidence is a Facebook group which you will need to join to see and take part in the challenges. I have been a member of this group for over 2 years now, and recommend it to anyone who wants to grow and develop their creative confidence.

Everything wonderful

This card is a copy in a way of one I saw somewhere, but don’t remember where. I just knew I wanted to make it, I didn’t have the same stamps or embossing folder, so used what I had. I love how it turned out! I used an old diagonal pattern embossing folder and turned it around to run it through again to give it the checked look.

CASE’ing is an acceptable practice in crafting, it means Copy And Share Everything! And as the Bible says, there is nothing new under the sun 🙂

Thanks for popping in,

Love

Floral Thank You

I have decided to take part in a new challenge with Global Design Project. I have been following them for a while and am finally taking the plunge. This challenge is a Colour Challenge using two of Stampin’ Up!’s new In Colour Range, Starry Sky and Sweet Sorbet, along with a pretty pink from the Subtles range, Petal Pink.

#GDP345

I made the flowers and stencilled the background using the Petal Pink inkpad.

A Card a Day to Say Hello

A few months ago I participated in a card makers event, and learnt so many new things. One of the presenters offered a free monthly sheet to write down who you send a card to each day for that month. I had so many cards I’d made so thought what a great idea it would be to send a card a day for that month. I started well, but ran out of steam at day 15! But 15 lovely ladies will have received a card instead of a text.

Have you ever done anything like that? What do you do with all the cards you make? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

Have a beautiful day ❤️

More Happiness

I am having a lot of fun with this set now. At first I was disappointed as I’m not really into colouring in stamps, but when I discovered the patterned paper goes with the dies, I really began enjoying myself. My friend suggested I watercolour before stamping, I gave that a try but it wasn’t working for me so I got out my blending brushes. This is the result.

What’s the most important thing about crafting? It’s expressing yourself, your creativity, and having fun doing it! I’ve been doing both 😃❤️

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have been enjoying yourself here and feel inspired to create your own kind of beautiful!

Love 💜
