Happy Birthday

Last week I shared that I have decided to take part in a new challenge for me with Global Design Project. This is my project for this week’s challenge with them, and it’s a Sketch Challenge this time.

I had such fun making this card, I love flowers and butterflies, and I love die-cutting.

I hope you’ll hop over to Global Design Project to see what others have done with this challenge.

Happy Mother’s Day

This card was made for a dual purpose, a Butterflies & Lace Challenge for the Facebook group Paper Craft Secrets and for Mother’s Day for the same group. I enjoy creating using layers and different elements, and this one has both.

P.S. I’m still trying to perfect the lighting for my photos.

I hope you all had a lovely mother’s day!

Grateful for our heritage

My design for Paper Craft Secret’s Heritage Challenge

One of the April Challenges at Paper Craft Secrets is a Heritage Challenge. For my design I chose to make two Anzac Day cards as there is such a rich heritage with the Anzac’s for our nation. And for me an especial significance as my dad served in Borneo during WW2.

He never spoke with me about his experience but he did with my brother who shared a little with me after my dad passed. I am forever grateful for the sacrifice he paid and for all those who gave up so much for the freedom we have today.

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Poppy Moments die for the poppies.

Always Remember.

Imagine with shaving cream

My design for the Paper Craft Secrets – Creating with Confidence February Colour Challenge.

Yep! Shaving cream! The background of this card was made with filling a plate with shaving cream, dropping ink from re-inkers, swirling slightly, and dropping some card on to it, in this case I used watercolour paper. In the next card I used the same technique using ordinary white cardstock.

With the first card I used two different pinks and one soft red. The second card has the same two pinks but without the red. What do you think? It is a fun technique to play with, and each time you will get a different result. These are some my 9 year old granddaughter made using the same technique.

Why not give it a try, just for FUN!! I’d love to hear (and see) how you went 🙂

Some Amazing News!

I have some amazing news! I have been invited to be on the Design Team of my favourite Facebook group, Paper Craft Secrets – Creating with Confidence! I must tell you what an honour this is for me! I found Alicia McNamara years ago in a crafting magazine I used to get every month and loved her work, then two years ago when covid hit and I needed something to do and got back into cardmaking I came across her videos on YouTube, joined her Facebook group, and now I am on her Design Team!

Paper Craft Secrets have two challenges each month, this month is a Sketch Challenge and a Colour Challenge. Today is my first official posting day and these are my two projects for these challenges. I hope they will inspire you!

A New Year of Challenges!

As you know I love doing challenges! At this time my favourite challenges are with Paper Craft Secrets who offer two challenges every month, and I also do a card swap. The January challenge with Paper Craft Secrets is ‘Black and White’, and we can enter three times for each challenge. This card is my first entry. I have always struggled with black and white cards, but I’m very happy with how this one came together. I hope you like it too!
