CHALLENGES

I’ve had a busy weekend creating cards for some challenge blogs that I have recently found and started entering my cards into. I love it! It is stretching me and my creativity in a way that I didn’t expect. I am using colour combinations I would not have thought of, creating from sketches which I have enjoyed for quite a while now, playing tic tac toe with techniques and embellishments, and using old rubber stamps on wooden blocks that I’ve had for years!

These are the cards I created this weekend, three of which will go into three challenges, Just Add Ink, TGIF Challenges, and Freshly Make Sketches.

Color throwdown #744

Another card for the Color Throwdown Challenge ctd744, Pink, Kraft, Grey & White. I pulled out an old card I’d made and CASE’d it, changing the colours and adding some butterflies. I like to keep cards I’ve enjoyed creating and make them again, it’s fun to see how using the same sketch can produce something so different and unique from the original. I love these colours together!

Global design project #395 & Color throwdown #744 & Retro rubber challenge #207

Here again with a card for the Global Design Project Challenge, this time the theme is Birthday, #GDP395, and for the Color Throwdown Challenge, ctd744 using pink, grey, craft and white, and the Retro Rubber Challenge #207 Anything Goes. I used three old Stampin’ Up! stamp sets for the Retro Rubber Challenge, Stippled Blossoms, Gorgeous Grunge and Wetlands, and I’ve had them all for around 10 years.

Retro rubber challenge #207

I love these challenges with Retro Rubber Challenge, because I love playing with my old stamps that I have had for years and in some cases haven’t used for years! This set for #rrcb207 is Bliss by Stampin’ Up! I don’t remember exactly how old it is but its at least 8 years old, probably more, and used to be a favourite. And I love the word ‘bliss’!

Color Throwdown CTD743

My card for this Color Throwdown challenge ctd743 this week was such fun to make for its bright and cheery colours. I have used one of my very favourite stamps from Stampin’ Up!’s Art Gallery set for the background colour of the flower and stem, and the outline stamp from the Happiness Abounds set.

TGIF CHALLENGES #tgifc421

I had the honour of being the Winner at TGIF Challenges last week, thank you TGIF! And this week the challenge is “You’re The Man”, a masculine card.

For my card I used a mixture of distress paint and Dylusions paint for the background for my tree.

Retro rubber challenge #206

I had some time so created a second card for this challenge with Retro Rubber Challenge blog #rrcb206 Tic Tac Toe.

For this card I chose the second row Die cut, Flowers, and Embossing. The stamp I used is Because I Care by Stampin’ Up!, at least 10 years old I think, and the diecut frame is from Close To My Heart.
