Retro rubber challenge #211

I love Retro Rubber Challenges because I love using my older stamps that I’ve kept for years. This one is called Wetlands and the challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge and I chose Beach, Die cut and Embossing.

The sand, sea and sky is made using Gorgeous Grunge, and the birds, grass and greeting from Wetlands, both I’ve had for at least 6 or 7 years.

Just add in #662

I’m back for another challenge, this time with Just Add Ink, and it’s a sketch challenge #662.

I had a play with my Gelli plate earlier in the week, and made some lovely colourful backgrounds, the background of this card is one of them. I kept it simple to make sure the lovely colours were the focal point of my card.

A project a day for july

Hi, it’s that time of year again, when we at Paper Craft Secrets Creating With Confidence are challenged to create something, anything, every day for a month, and this year it is the month of July. I have been quite unwell, and was not sure I’d be able to even start, but was encouraged and inspired by my friend at Paper Craft Secrets, Alicia McNamara, to not give up. I have decided that this month I am going to focus on some new techniques for me, and re-visit some older ones that I haven’t used for quite a while. This one today is a new one, using Gesso to create a stunning background. I’ve used Gesso in the past on art journals, but I don’t remember ever on a card. I struggled getting a good photo of this card, the flower is heat embossed with silver.

Papercraft secrets – June

One of the two challenges for June at Alicia McNamara’s Papercraft Secrets Facebook group is One Page Wonder, the other one is a multi-layout scrapbook page. I am not a scrapbooker although I have dabbled in it. My passion is cards, 3D projects, fun-fold cards, mixed-media projects and art journals.

I am privileged to be on the Design Team at Papercraft Secrets, and here is my design for the One Page Wonder. I designed my own pattern for these cards, and you can find it on the Resources page.

I love creating with paper. Since I was a child at school I have loved stationery, papers, pens, colouring, so when I discovered cardmaking more than 20 years ago I was hooked. It is truly my happy place. My hope is that what I post here inspires you to create with whatever medium you love, and to create your own kind of beautiful! We are all creative, it is just finding what you love, what brings you alive.
